What Is An NFT Drop?

An NFT drop is all about releasing a new non-fungible token to the public so that people can buy it. Usually, this is done online through a specific website per project.

Different Types of NFT Drops

The types of NFT Drops are as follows.

1)Standard NFT Drops: Just as the name suggests, these are the most common types of NFT drops. Here, an artist creates an NFT collection and sells it on a first-come, first-serve basis until the entire collection is sold out.

2) Open Edition NFT Drops: An open edition NFT drop refers to a specific type of non-fungible token rollout project where the digital asset created with as many versions as need be is rolled out for people to buy.

3)Limited Edition NFT Drops: This is the opposite of Open Edition NFT drops. Here, buyers are allowed to purchase non-fungible tokens that have limited editions. Once they are gone, they are gone, and no more editions can be created and offered for people to buy. This gives such NFTs higher values compared to other NFTs.

4) English Auction NFT Drops: typical of specific NFT marketplaces such as SuperRare and Foundation. Here, NFTs are offered through an auction, and the process of buying them is similar to that of purchasing an item through a traditional auction.

5) Dutch Auction NFT Drops: These drops are whereby NFTs are rolled out at higher prices that come down the longer the items remain unpurchased. They are not so common, though. These drops apply the Dutch auction technique, where the seller begins with a high asking price and lowers it until some buyer accepts the price, hence the name.

Where To Find The Upcoming NFT Drops

Finding the Upcoming NFT drops might seem like a tall order, but the reality is that the process is easier than it seems. All you have to do is to use the right method(s). Here are some of them:

Go To NFT LaunchPads Or NFT Drops Marketplaces

Several platforms list non-fungible tokens for sale. Websites such as SuperRare, OpenSea, Crypto.com, and Rarible qualify as some of the best marketplaces for NFTs. These sites are updated with new items daily, not to mention that they are packed with variety.

Be sure to check them out. Also, don’t forget to look for what’s trending on each website, as that information will be readily displayed.

Use Social Media

Social media is another great place to find non-fungible tokens that are listed for sale. Social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Clubhouse, Instagram, Reddit, and Discord are full of ads for NFT drops.

Better yet, some platforms such as Facebook, Reddit, Twitter, Instagram, Discord, and so on allow you to get in touch with sellers conveniently through Instant Messaging. It’s a good thing to follow sellers that can be either individual artists or big brands and join NFT communities to keep in the know about the latest drops so you can take advantage.

Use Metaverse

A metaverse is a virtual reality universe where people can interact with each other. To get into this computer-generated 3D world, you must wear special virtual and augmented reality headsets. You must connect your headsets to a virtual world platform such as Decentraland or Discord.

Once you are in the marketplace, you’ll discover plenty of new NFTs for sale and be able to interact with members of the NFT community, including creators and buyers like you. Note: You can access Decentralized on your device without necessarily wearing the special headsets. The hardware is only necessary if you want to get the full experience of the metaverse.

Use Podcasts

You can also find great NFT drops by subscribing to podcasts that talk about this topic. Some of the best podcasts you can consider are Modern Finance and NFT Catcher Podcast. Two Bored Apes, the Nifty Show, and The GaryVee Audio Experience.

Use Word of Mouth

Finally, using word of mouth can help lead you to some amazing NFT drops that just got announced recently. Find and make friends with people who are interested in non-fungible tokens. You’ll find that there’s a friend who knows about some cool NFT rollout somewhere or even an upcoming drop.
